Assignment Guide

The FB Web Team manages roughly 30 public websites for F&B units at Penn State. Determining if a ticket gets assigned to the Web Team isn't always straight forward, but the following guide should help. If the site is in the FB IT Web Team Sites List, it's something we manage. There isn't an issue if we are inadvertently assigned a ticket that needs to be routed other than delay to the end user. We often don't know who to route things to via ServiceNow when they are wrongly assigned.

There are a number of units that have a dedicated person that handle the day to day content updates and are typically the first contact for a request. They would generally only escalate issues to us if they need assistance. I've tried to point out those special cases below.

There is also confusion about assignment when units have applications with similar URL's to their public website. https://www.absecom.psu.edu/ and http://apps.opp.psu.edu/ are examples of apps that have URLs similar to the public websites. We don't manage the Apps.
